Re: Summer League 2009 League stages
league fixtures this competition has been arranged perfectly for us at blazers with 6 league matches and the final if we make it being all before the 30 july which is the annual blazers golf open well done match secratery
Re: Summer League 2009 League stages
looking at the groups the brig look like having the easiest of them and should qualify.
the toll, sunbeam and den were all together in the summer league stages last season which had the brig last season as well.
blazers kirkland and windsor a were in the same section last season as well altho kirkland did not play any matches and the windsor this season is mostly b players
the final section looks tough with last seasons winners ahw up against argyle and buck.
skins did ask where there trophy was for winning last season lol the 5 man team was won by brig a few months earlier and the summer league was ran as a idea had on the web site , they did get £110 winnings so had the choice of buying there own.
Auld Hoose Windygates winning team
Skins , Ian Murray , Steve Murray , Soapy , Mark Anderson
lossing blazers team was
Stoo , Lav , Brian T , Baba , Gabs - last season gabs and baba had just finished the league with den inn, the rules have now changed so no tranfers to other teams till after the summer league
terry biggerstaff had played in the first summer league game for blazers last season but by the time the final came round he wanted to play for ahw but as he had played for blazers he was not allowed to play in the final for ahw

Re: Summer League 2009 League stages
a couple of changes to the teams from last season - Windsor will now play their matches from Silver Tassie. and the Station have dropped out the league altogether so won't be in the summer league, i heard the landlord of the Station banned the pool team fi the pub
all the teams in Stations group get a 7-0 victory when it comes to the Station match.
Blazers will compete in the summer league

end of the season and start of the new season
thursday marks the last competition of the 2008/09 season with the start of the summer cup, it will take us within a week or two of the start of the new league season 2009/10.
blazers played railway last league game of the season and play them in the 1st match of the summer league
i think the new league fixtures for 2009/10 can be collected 29th july at the buck, always interesting to see who your up against first

missing teams already
with the station not playing it was decided by the committee that teams would be given a 7-0 victory for teams not playing the game.
i think this is wrong as teams may have a team some weeks but not others, fair enough if a team dosnt turn up then their opponents should get the points for a win but not 7-0 as well it should go down as a walkover with no team gaining frame advantage as this could well decide a final table.
toll bar are in the summer league and hav entered a team for the league proper if they cant get 5 players how they gonna get 8 looking dodgy already. but if they d get a team for next week and they win or get a few frames the other teams in their section apart from sunbeam will be at a disadvantage.

Re: Summer League 2009 League stages
another week with only half the fixtures getting played with station out before the league started it seems the toll bar, kirkland and maybe the auld hoose buckhaven have decided not to bother.
douglas & brig - the brig seem like they only have to beat the douglas at home now to qualify for the final
sunbeam & Den Inn - beam seem most likely to win this section
windsor & blazers - i think if blazers win all there games it wont be enough as the windsor would probably have a better score difference. we'll see
buck, AHW, Argyle - the buck look favorites from at the start looked the closed group.

Blazers V Tassie
this could well be our final match in this seasons summer league as Kirkland are no playing their matches.
a win tonight may not be enough to qualify as the tassie have a better goal difference, so we need a big win which will be very difficult if not unlikely and railway to take a few frames of the tassie next week.

Tassie won last night no complaints they were the better side both games
good luck to them in the final at the douglas in 2 weeks time
brig sunbeam tassie and maybe buck or ahw i'll go for the tassie to win the final title of the 2008-09 season.
