FINALS DAY

Venues for the final of competition for the last 10 years or so have been spread out between a couple of pubs more than others brig and Buck'n'Hynd seem to have the most, is this fair to the other pub land lords who pay the same league fees each year , but it seems they get less for their money

something definetly has to get done about semis/finals venues, we have got to stop puttin players to pubs that have rotten tables, does the league care about the players at all or just the landlords??? i dont care what pub i play pool in aslong as the table is how it should be, its only commen sense that these big games should get played on the best tables. league need to start thinking about the players and not the cash there gettin as the players get to see none of that anyway. simples

at the start of the season, teams are allowed in the league at this stage teams should be told of the state of their table and if not upto scratch they should not be allowed in for the season

so if teams are in the league then they should get the chance of a final , if in alphabetical order or drawn

teams like kirkland , den inn , sunbeam i know have not had a final for a few years but are in the league playing matches, the reason these teams are not allowed to host finals is because of walls near the table

the auld hoose in windygates had a final 1 years ago but the table is close to the wall like den or kirkland , no difference

teams pay league fees of £160 for a season, last year was £160, 2 years ago it was £100 and £30 to enter all competitions
there does not seem to be mutch of a difference in prizes awarded to the winners and runner-up with the higher league fees

Would really like to see a finals day this year, over the last couple of year the league has made small steps in becoming a better league, i think having a finals day would be great for all the players involved and all the players watching who arent involved. Rent a few tables in to somewhere like the venue or the wellsley and make a day of it, ive seen other leagues do it easy, its the way forward.

this idea of using a big venue for finals is not what the levenmouth league is about, i'dont like the idea of all the competition finals on the same day
whats better about having a finals day , their is not many venues that can hold all the finals and spectators
the buck held the doubles and 3 man team finals last season it was not that better, busy

so what your saying is we should have all the finals at a venue big enough each year , so that narrows it down to 2 maybe 3 venues every year (buck, or a venue that is not used for league games each week like wellesley, that would get a venue that are not even in the league)
having the wellesley hold the super 8's is fine as it is not a levenmouth pool competition
all finals were meant to be held at a venue that could hold a league venue, all teams pay league fees for to hold venues and maybe a final

who gives a monkey's if the table is not the best, the team is allowed in the league to play is that not good enough, its a social league not a SPA event or hustlers competition
you canny say the brig or any other pub is big enough to hold a final's day of all the competitions

i would rather have a competition doubles, etc (last 4) having their own day for a final
just because other league's have a final day does not mean its better, changing it does not mean its better, if everyone in the league wanted the change then maybe it may have to be changed (a vote to ask all the players in the league who play would be the only idea) but to leave it upto the captains to decide at the carry on league meeting's, AGM is not a true vote of what everyone wants

all the people that get things voted in or not voted in is guys like you, they come out once a week and say "its a social league" WELL WHY FUKIN BOTHER IF ANYTHING GETS CHANGED!!!!!!

i said at the agm that this league will be non existing in 10-15 years, everything gets done how the old players, comitte and landlords want it, well wait 10-15 year when all these old players are finished playing and theres no young players comin through.

and i tried to bring up at the agm for landlords to pay less money and take a finals day to the venue, so what they dont play in the league, its the PLAYERS who play in the league.

"And who cares if the tables no the best" cmon stoo would you drink a shite pint in the pub???? same goes for the pool, some of us actually want to play proper.
