It'll soon be summer again well for a couple of weeks anyway, the pool season ends on the 22 june fucking ages away anyway the Blazers Open is a golf tournament run each year the last thursday of July 31 usally taking place at the scoonie but not confirmed. anyone wishing to take part this year are more than welcome entry fee is £5 .presentation back at blazers and good old swally honk honk.
handicaps are based on players being fair about there score 80 is scratch so if you usally get 85 then your handicap is 5 anyone found to have cheated on there handicap wont make it back to blazers.

Is this date a 100%? As I would need to book a days holiday for this.

we played last year in the drissle it was last thursday in july i would say same again this year .1st played 2002

The final took place last thursday this is the first i've had the time to make a comment on the golf as i've just recently come out of a coma after being on holiday for the past week.
the day started brilliantly with sun and clear skies but as the opening tee times arrived the weather changes to windy and rain i think their was 13 players took part with a couple of big hitters in the field ian murray, roger turnbull no gregor or kev dick this year who won longest drive and best scratch 73 last year.
baba was champion after a 80 with the help of 7 shots he may be scratch next year like the reast of us
alex white a young relative of jim white had 20 shots last year and finished 3rd so we took 5 off and he got even better finishing 2nd and £30 single figures next year young man.
lav got nearest the pin the rules are you must be on the green itself not rough as the pin was at the back off the green most shots never counted.

it was a good day apart from the terrible weather well done to everyone for taking part even the non golfers i may soon be one of them i had a 88 total pants something like 3rd last

firstly thanks to aw the chaps who turned up for the golf last thursday and were the f*** were aw you that had your names doon but never turned up ?

we still had 16 players - anyways joe buck and his son turned up . jim white and deek allan fi the brig turned up and ian murray fi ahw .
blazers boys were bt, baba, gabs, stoo, lav, kev and locals not in the pool team brian wanecky, borro, geno, billy laing

the weather looked good at 2pm but there was a shower or 2 and strong winds, but maybe not as bad as the last 2 years.

bt had posted a 92 with a 15 handicap so net 77 and the lead till geno stole the title with a 95 , net 75

the prize winners on the day were

runner-up - Brian T - 92 net 77 £30
joint 3rd - Brain Wanecky & Billy Laing both 99 , net 79 £15 each

Longest drive on the 15th - Jim White - bottle of smirnoff - the longest drive i've ever seen just short of the bunker in front of the green
Nearest the pin 10th - Brian Thomson - bottle of smirnoff - about 10 foot away
Beast scratch - 72 Martin Buchan - great score in some high winds , should have been £20 quid and a bottle but lav dosent rate this competition as he aint ever gonna win it (80 is his best)

If you've played before your handy cap will be given to you, if you've never played before then your score will be what you normaly go round the scoonie, you average score say 90 then you get 10 shots, we dont want any one lying about this

your score must be accurate to what youve entered or lav will be after you

last years champion, geno had 20 shots and a round of 95 he will get at best 15 shots this year

I ain't been close to winning it since 2002 when i was champion wi 10 shots I won with 73 i think by 1 shot

Brought my son along last year and he got best scratch and got S.F.A.

it was only last year are you looking for a job on the committee, the prize for best scratch was a bottle of smirnoff , a drink for over 18 but he did win something

Blazers Open will still be on the 29th July 2pm at scoonie
even if we do win or draw with Buck this thursday and qualify for the semi final which would be held on the 29th july 8pm in the railway or the other semi was meant to be windsor but their not in the competition so it may be empire
the final will be held in Blazers 5 August a week later, 2 weeks before the league is meant to start

the blazers open was held at the scoonie 29-7-10, weather wiz sunny and hot
the handy caps were sorted out, using last seasons scores and players being honest about their scores
del boy said he wanted 20 shots and said he could not hit a score in the 80's, what a lyer he had 85 and stoll everyone's money, the cock
the only person that is a true 20 handy cap is bill laing who plays every year and get's 80 with his handy cap
the auld hoose boys were sharks 71 to 78 with little or no handy cap's
murry won longes drive, best scratch(71 best every) and joint third
its happened this year but the score everyone handed in is notted
disappointed by the brig boy n/r at the end like last year
last years champion geno had a decent score 92
their was talk of redgy getting a bit to much to drink through his round(cider)
baba on 72 after 16 holes found the bunker and had 10 to get out, so with his hundy cap may have made a position if not for the bunker
lav I think was trying to get a better handy cap for next year (95)

hopefully we will have a good day for it like last year it was hot, the previous years have been raining

all scores from last 4 years will be takien into consideration (we have a list) when the handy caps are made , i'm looking for 7 or 8 shots played 2 matches since last july

Blazers open took place in the rain , but it wasnt really that bad it was not windy
with 11 players at the start of the competition , the call offs were due to the rain , the scottish open a few weeks ago was a lot worse

New handy cap rule for this year
any new players will not be allowed more than 10 shots handy cap
if players bring 10 score sheets with scores to show their handycap

players have turned up for the competition claimed what ever handycap say (15 or 18 shots)
won and never been seen again

their are player who will get more but they have played in the competition before and their handy cap is correct

Blazers open (2012) took place in sunny spoils and some wind perfect for golf , with 7 players at the start of the competition the least amount of players in the 10 year history

handy caps were wrong again philpy should have been in the plus numbers +5 instead of -5
Baba should have been scratch as he had a score in the 70's last year and this
my score and geno should have been 2 shots + (for net 80)
anyone finishing in the 80's is a correct handycap
