Location : Nomad due to league rules!!
name players
1st round named blayers
as we had 2 plays possibly without a partner for the 1st round it looks like the rule is not working as the central bar had 3 teams instead of 5 . teams may have 4 players with 2 players from each team dont turn up and the other 2 can't play ,naming a sub aint the best idea either for the 1st round.
it looks like the rule aint working to make all venues full ,teams still look at who they have and either go or don't
when you go to the meeting all the comitee say is it a social league, really is it how come there aint enouth players
why rule out the chance of playing out of disterect placers it just rules out players for a full team

20 years since title
it has been 20 years since stoo won his 1st doubles title in 1989-1990
played the1st round at the east dock bar versus station 2-0, then douglas 2-1 versus the hamilton boys winning on the blackball
the burns qualified for the 2nd round at scooni gc getting a bye after the argyle failed to show , beat the east dock bar 2-0 i think n.mcwilliams was their, it was a while ago i'm going by my note writen at the time.
after qualifiying for the final in the east dock bar, walker who had won the title the last 2 years qualified for the final but his partner could not turn up and no sub allowed. there was talk at the time he wanted to field a sub and as he had started playing for burns at christmas and hadent played with anyone else - George Meek
the silver tassie and auld hoose never showed either. this was played on a thursday night ,so you excuses about being on a sunday carry on.
east dock bar had a bit to do in all the rounds.
2009-10 won 1st round so its still on and their was a couple of similar scores , 2-1 we beat douglas again i think it went to the black as well, 2-0 versus central , central could be the east dock as we played at central and blayed east dock in the 2nd round , argyle missed the game as they did at the scoonie.
