fixtures mistake
as we have 28 players this year we dont have enough week to fit in all the games as every group will have 1 free week for the players.
i had though the quarters would be played by 13 dec but there is 7 fixtures 14 weeks so what about 10 january
quarter finals 14 dec till 9 jan as people have things to do at the xmas holidays
ok then thats that sorted 10 january the fianls at a venue to be decided.

season 2010-11
anyone interested in this seasons invitational jathros league should post there name,
as there was problems getting the league fees for the last couple of years all players wanting to enter will have to pay before the league starts
i think we'll leave the entry fee at £10 as before
last year had 28 players at the start 3 dropped out, but 26 players at the end, jim paterson never payed after playing 2 or 3 games , craig arnott dropped out then never payed , joe buckan never payed after playing 2 games but dropped out, scott simpson never got his money from 2 years ago its no forgotten about
blackball rules as before, no timed games, no time wasters - players who never payed or who dropped out the league need not apply
no sure when this could be started maybe october or november
£0 all money collected and payed out 07-08
£25 not collected from 08-09 jathros and 75 baw
£45 not collected from 09-10 jathros and 75 baw
payed and collected
Baba - Payed £10
Stoo - Payed £10
Rab Clark - Payed £10
Keil - Payed £10

Re: Taking names for singles league
I did ask Terry about asking Gabs, dwinks, keil, and yourself when Argyle played Den recently,
terry said gabs was gonna do something about it I havent spoke to gabs for a while so i dont know whats happening , it would be better if someone that was playing in the league that way there is more chance of getting more names
I did start it with £40 from 4 players, and this could be added to any more players that want in, I would be willing to get any score's and add to the web site

Re: Taking names for singles league
thats excellent mike
if its still gonna be groups and quarters, I think if 20 players total would be fine if possible
so when we had 20 then it can start
will the entry fee still be £10, could the money be collected before the competition starts
we need contact number , home venue for playing the games ,
still 6 frames to each match as before,
so draws in the league and then on to 7 frames for the knock out stages

Re: Taking names for singles league
Yes same £10 entry
can start it when we have 20 players paid
names so far
1, Baba. AHW / payed
2, Stoo. ? / payed
3, Rab Clark. brig / payed
4, Keil. Argyle / payed
5, Mike McHale. Den
6, Ian Murray. AHW
7, Rab McGregor. Mollys - venue Den or Brig
8, Deek. Brig
9, Gabs. Den
10, Pete Simpson. Den
Les Lowe, den
11, John Lamont. Central
12, Martin McLean. Den
13, Joe Buck. Douglas
14, Jock Wotherspoon Den
15, Tam Crichton - Venue Den or Brig
16, Terry Biggerstaff. argyle or den
17, P Dick - Douglas
18, J White - Brig
19, Skins - Auld Hoose
20,
21, brian thomson - brig
22, Mark Anderson - Auld Hoose
23, Dwinks - Argyle
24, Finn - Den
just a note on venues, some like Den give you table free for these games while others like AHW charge
maybe we should get a list of venues that give the Jathros League free tables and only play there
and if a home player still wants to play at pub that charges then he pays for it himself
just a thought,
as i think pubs that are good enough to give the table free deserve to be rewarded with the extra custom
what you think ???
as last year there is seeded players, the players who qualified from their group last time (if they're in this year), top 2 from 6 in a section / the list with a red number are the seeds as they finnished top two in their group last year

Re: Taking names for singles league
we have 16 players at this point
thinking about the 20 players then start the draw
it may be better to make it 24 so no free weeks in the league , 4 groups of 6

Re: Taking names for singles league
so it looks like we have 24 players , now all we have to do is collect the league fee's before the draw for the groups is made , £10 entry fee
the 8th seeding will go to skins as he finished 3rd in his group (spencer)

Cash for Jathro's League Entry
Stoo will run this league as before, post on website, arrange draw, do fixtures etc.
But before this can happen the £10 entry has to be paid, ASAP
The quicker the cash is in the quicker the draws can be done and get it started.
So Joe Buchan and Mike McHale will be collecting cash for this, so get ur cash to one of them ASAP
Anyone not on the list above that wants to play can play no problem, first to pay will secure place in the competition, ideally we would like 24 but the more the merrier.
So get ur cash in and get the show on the road.
Douglas has a free week this week, so I will get a list and try and get round the pubs to collect ur cash, so have it with you, please.

Re: Taking names for singles league
ok all the contact phone numbers have been collected
all players have given their preferred home venue or 2nd choice
looks like rab frape has pulled out ,
he didnt pay his £5 for last years 75 baw ,
better now than when the league has started
so anyone that wants in can take his place , the draw will take place soon

Basically the home player can chose to play at any pub in Leven, does not have to play in the pub he plays for, but Stoo is trying to list the players and their preferred venue's.

Re: Taking names for singles league
We have 27 players down to play in the Jathro's this year, 23 have paid their entry.
The 4 that have not paid yet will be asked for their cash to be paid for Thursday 4 November, if not paid then, then out they go, draw will be made and competition will start.
Do not see any problems with the 4 like, all had very genuine reasons for not paying their entry last night.
So we have 27 on the list, would be nice to add one more to make 4 leagues of 7, instead of 3 x 7 and one of 6, ask around boys and try and get one more. PLEASE.
A big Thanks to all the boys that paid their cash last night by the way, this makes things a lot easier and will go a long way in getting things moving along.

Venues for playing matches.
Get your pub some business from this, every little helps
Post here any pubs that offer any deals such as free pool to play the Jathro's matches.
Here's a start:-
Douglas offers free pool on a TUESDAY, so arrange to play your ties there on a Tuesday

this tournament is not anything to do with levenmouth pool league , they dont run it or organise it, so any player can play where he want to even if he dosent play in the league
the boys that play for mollys want to play at den or brig, terry said he would like to play at argyle or maybe den inn, brian odonnell played all his games away from argyle last year, me i aint decided yet any pub will do me i may play all away

Does not really make any difference one way or the other to be honest, when arranging your matches the player at home decides the venue, u can play at a different venue each match if u so wish, entirely up to u

Re: Taking names for singles league
The draw for the group stages will be held in blazers on sunday about 2pm
with 29 players it will be 3 groups of 7 players and 1 of 8, with top 2 in each league qualifying for quarters
thanks to mike mchale and joe buck for there good work in getting players for this year and collecting the league fees
champion £150
runner up £80
2 loosing semi-final players £30
if anyone has a problem with this leave a post and their point can be hopefully addressed
is the prize money correct, are the groups too big or small, should the semi finalists get money for loosing
I was looking for 24 players to start but with so many players wanting in that idea had to be shelved
I was thinking of making it 8 groups of 4 if we had 32 players with the group winners only qualifying for the quarters
