2008/09 season - League Race - Page 3 Empty Re: 2008/09 season - League Race

It was a good match and well done to the blazers team for beating the brig at home. As anticipated it was quite a long night and all the frames could have went either way. When Deek unfortunately potted the black against mints then Craig lost then I knew that we would struggle. At 3 - 3 it was game on again but blazers unleashed two very good players in Chris and Scott who both played well and deserved their wins. In the doubles the writing was on the wall when Craig accidentally potted the white after a good pot on his ball then blazers closed out the match. The brig didnt play as fluently as expected and overall blazers deserved their victory. There is a long way to go and the brig shall be back to fight another day.

I see the brig are still favorites in the poll to win the league, fair enough it's only 1 defeat.

Blazers become the first squad to hit 100 frames won this season, good win last night with a few absent but still had enough in reserve to beat maxwells 6-2 in the singles a couple of tight games young mr spencer had a re-rack but won the frame
lavs bad luck continues with him potting the black on his second shot well done young man (45 last saturday)
the doubles were conceded as they al went home early Smile

Blazers 10-1 Buck'n'Hynd
looks an easy win but the doubles were conceded by the buck, a few games looked tight but its all about the team that pots aw their baws and the black.
thats blazers hit the half way mark in the season . won 14 from 14 as well, it'll be a tough start to the new year with douglas, windsor, auld hoose windygates and argyle all to play in January, February Wink

Just had Ian Brodie at the door with new fixtures for the second half of the season. The Railway Tavern Buckhind are taking the Windsor A's place for the second half . We've got them first on the 8th January. No more free weeks, nice one!

so blazers lost v windsor 7-4 shared last 2 doubles. we had a couple of players missing but got 8 players together.
this match could have gone either way really just going on the games we lost lav how many balls do you want in the open to win, stoo snooker your sell on the black after potting the last colour, dazza 2 shots played the correct ball rolled up to opponents for the straight black, but our table rolled off. gabs missed straight black ahh. 1st doubles didnt land a snooker when needed.
sorry for the postmortem just feel we blew it more than they were good althogh they did have a good finish in the doubles (J) . its all about on the night but when the Windsor come to play the Brig i canny see them beating them, all this in my opinion cos this is the foram for views on matches.

Cmon Stoo that's a bit harsh, definitely agree that the game could have went either way but your speaking about the frames you lost but how many times have you won frames you could have or should have lost, that's just part of the game!!

Felt we played really well and possibly did get the run of the balls a wee bit but you're gonna need that to beat a team who won their first 16 games!!

We could definitely do you a favour and beat the brig later in the season if we play well, they'll definitely be favourites cos the league doesn't lie but we definitely COULD beat them!!

Oh aye and I nearly forgot .............................................................................................get that right up yi!!!!!!!!!! Razz

Mon the Windsor!!

ive got to give my view from blazers point of view as do every other team, they were the frames that i could remember.
we were definately gonna lose sometime just wish it was later on in the season now were back to square one
at least you boys play at the brig .just blazers and argyle won there in recent years. the table will be more level than ours.
you boys are still 13 points behind us tho eh is it ! (UEFA cup place)

that brian one ecky (the dancer) was a pain in the arse every time i turned round for a drink of my pint he had it in his hand i must have bought 3 pints in half an hour the cunt (very annoying)

been lookin at the stat leaders....shame we couldnt have the whole league in on it then stoo wid be too busy to talk shite coz he wid b too busy updatin it aw week long Razz

hey i must have said something last saturday to upset you young man, just canny mind what it was gonna tell me so i can use it this week at the kirkland Laughing

i would update it for every team it dont take that long all the players are their you just enter 1 for win or loss easy

blazers have to get back to winning ways this week away to the only team with 1 victory all season

blazers is closed till the auld hoose windygates game a week next thursday our next home game (i think its open sunday as well)

and the bit about the stat leaders the percentage thing is wrong if you play 14 games but the team plays 16 you cant have a 100% record its games won that count. i have asked if the program could be changed it cant so we have to go with percentage on the web site.
there are over 50 names in the stats but you have to change the percentage of games to 0 and total number of players to 100 to see everyone

Blazers 9-2 AHW
auld hoose refused to play the doubles so we were forced to take them.
looked a tough match last night, ahw turned up with a big squad of players there were frames that could have went either way (not mine, steve gave me a right thumping he potted them aw fi the break all 10)
6-2 was a great score v a top 5 side , its always good to get it finished in the singles well played Blazers Surprised

at times i thought we were playing the den what a bunch of moaning ......... there was a ball jump out the bag for 1 of there players, but they blamed this for every frame they lost Laughing
then they couldni get a spider Razz so they wanted to mount the table their was a rest there but it wizni good enough for them it was ok for the snooker club thats were it came fi Laughing

station poor or unlucky Question blazers had a couple o players missing but still had a full squad to play station, even with there home heakler in action they couldni win a frame.
blazers played all the frames including the doubles for our first ever 11-0 victory that i can remember, afetr the match as we had no where to go as the funner was closed again we asked for a game of killer but afetr the match the station team dissapeared 'where are they all away to, they canny aw be smoking' they were having a team meeting behind the curtains Suspect

Den Inn v Blazers - scott spencer lost his 100% record and as gabs won the last frame at the den that made the score 7-1 what a cheer.
the doubles were not played
blazers have a rule that if 1 player loses and the other 7 win then its a bottle of vodka as penalty.

Bottle Boys
Mark Watson - Kirkland
Brian Thomson - Station
Alan Band - Sunbeam
Alan Band - Auld Hoose Buckhaven
Gary Brunton - Buck'n'Hynd
Scott Spencer - Den Inn

8 games left of the season

was looking for a closer game between the auld hoose windygates and brig as they were at home but 10-1 is not good what a poor performance or it may have been 1 of those nights when frames were close but went all the same way.

A night to remember ..... if you get a chance , take it ..... if you dont you get humped big style ..... well at 7 - 0 up most of the hoose`s players left ..... leaving jim paterson to get the hoose`s only frame ..... had to be given 2 of the doubles as they only had enough players left to make 1 doubles..... overall disappointed to be finsished at 9.15 , expected a much longer night

he did mention something about not ever wanting to play against a girl/woman Embarassed

the question has to be asked what excuse do ahw have for being humped last thursday at home to the brig , they canny use "the table wiz pish" one, "blame the mickey mouse pish", "trampoline bags", "hole in the table", "you should have a spider" so what wiz it "were no interested in the league as were so far behind the leaders" all these excuses were given to blazers recently Laughing 7-0 honk honk
you boys fi ahw must be playing to much pool yez burnt yer sel oot is that it Razz

it seems pointless teams like brig playing teams from the bottom half of the league, even teams in 4rth place get hammered by them tongue
