EVERY SINGLE SEASON there seems to be a problem with some competition or other in the way they are being run. Doubles and 3 man teams especially with this idiotic rule about SUBS for a start. If you pair up with a player then one of you gets a shift change how can you be out of the tournament before a ball is even struck. It should be who turns up on the FIRST match that plays to the end with NO SUBS. Now the 100 ball. The 100 ball should be a STRAIGHT DRAW KNOCKOUT and there will be no excuses about wrong scores being obtained. Ive said for a long time that the levenmouth pool league are in the dark ages and will continue to be so as long the present commitee are in power. It must be very sweet getting the honorariums at the end of the season for consistently making FAILURES with the competitions. This has been an annual occurence for as long as I can remember. Retirement is coming quicker for me than otherwise was anticipated.

ok the score for the night in section B

if blazers win then they qualify, even if tassie win versus buck

if the auld hoose win 100-91 then the auld hoose will go above blazers, put if tassie win 100-64 then they qualify
if blazers lose and get 93 balls tassie need a score of 100-62 versus buck or better

predictions for the other tables
section A
railway could qualify if the bayview dont turn up / 100-0

section c
brig even if they get beat versus central their 2 many ahead in goal difference

section d
windsor v den inn if den win they qualify or if windsor win they need to win by 11 points

so tassie won but what wiz the final score, if there is anyother scores people know, post them and i'll update the site

blazers had what looked a tough game at the start with auld hoose taking an early lead ,but a couple of boys for blazers took the lead with some brilliant potting, as the stats from the game say 5 players had 3 rounds i only had 2 , it was fast skillful stuff.
blazers seem back on track this year, after last year competing with 4 players in 1 match
skins did ask if you have to hand in the team sheet for the 100 ball, a few teams dont hand them in but it is better to at least you have a recort of the score and both captains have signed and confirmed it

Aye just looking back at the competition history it seems like blazers last won something in the 2002 - 2003 season. Not very good stats for an awesome team Terry. Mad Mad Mad Mad

Again last night, whether you can lift the white after a foul came up. Once when a ball was missed altogether and once when the white was hit twice.

As far as I know you are allowed to lift it. The bearded keeper of the minutes from the Buck felt otherwise. We eventually let it go to keep the peace but they gained an advantage of leaving the ball safe after a foul. Surely that is not right!

Anyway after talking to a Windsor player after their game with the Den last night, the opposite was done (rightly I believe) by our bearded treasurer.

Let's get the rules like these written down so that there are no discrepancies. Didn't make a big difference last night but it may in the future.

Someone make sure it gets raised at the meeting and the outcome minuted by the bearded one so he can reference it in future!

Are there any new guys in your team who can really make a difference Terry? The majority of players from Blazers have been there for a long time as I can see. Just read the signature Tel boy............... Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

If you's are gonna ask about history then here we are
I have the stats from the 2002-03 final played in the brig
Blazers 100 V 40 Buck'n'Hynd
Total
1 Mints 0 1 12 10 23 / John Mitchell
8 Eck goodsir 5 0 0 1 6 / Mike Dodds
4 Lav 2 4 7 3 16 / Ian Goodsir
6 Stoo 6 1 0 0 7 / John
5 G goodsir 1 2 0 8 11 / Sammy
6 Grim 2 0 4 1 7 / Kiel
3 Gabs 7 1 5 4 17 / Judge
2 Baba 2 0 16 - 18 / Crock
4 rounds baba had 3 for blazers
Buck started of okay with mitchell potting dodds was pish and so was the rest mints last two rounds good and baba with a good break lav and gabs biggest surprise, easy win, blazers 15 points in fouls

terry you played the doubles v rural 17 apr before the final you didnt play that year working i think
we played the winners from the previous year silver tassie at the tassie 100-83 paddy and all. then maxwells 100-29 , semi-final wellesley 100-73
buck'n'hynd beat the brig in the quarters 100-67 after the brigs only win versus the rural at the brig , fact
brig came second in the league that year in fact they never won any competition that year, runners up 3man team and doubles
sean u were runner up in the captain vice with paterson losing to douglas in the final, playing for the wellesley who won the league

other blazers players that year - bill sneddon, steve johnston, fra black, terry biggerstaff, lee ford, davy haycock, scott miller

They are all good players Terry but ...................................
My point being is why do you need to bring outsiders (out of district players) to try to win a mediocre pool league. The brig have had the same players for years (all local guys) without the need for outsiders. Busby is the only new player to have came to the brig for a long time. In my opinion Chris and Spencer should not be taking a backward step by coming to play in this very poor league.

your talking rubish about outside players brig have out side player dogy hutt, they were leven boys brian thomson(Blazers), scott dewar/ bundy (BuckB), bellesini(Sunbeam) d comrie i dont remember cheeney,c saunders, d meldrum playing a few years ago where have they come from ,i remember years ago the wellesley had a couple fi kirkcaldy stewarty or gillespie i think 1 was called, another guy wi blond hair was it dick you thought they were good enough for your team then
chris and kieran have played 3 years now if they want to play pool on thursday night in a conpetative league maybe not scotland best for sure but so what , spencer dosent play since last year. players from our league go through to kirkcaldy so what its only pool
7 of the 8 have played at least 1 game this year from the 2003 100 ball

the rule about no outside players from this year is bull if boys want to play pool let them there maybe aint enough good players locally to play. last year may have been the first year blazers had an out side player.

when i think at a team fi brig years ago you've got davy comrie even tho he was argyle and wellesley , hush, deek even tho he was argyle and burns , frape he played argyle burns kirkland big baz, jim white, ben saunders, nicky mcwilliams, brodie
i dont see you as a brig player from years ago or scott wedderburn your going on about how yes dinni have new players and yous have been the same team for years

Come on boys stop ganging up on me. 2 against 1 isnt fair. Us guys at the brig shall just stick with the same old team weve had for the past 6 years and try to win the league again. Just you guys stay at the tinkiest pub in fife and keep changing your players if you wish. Keep trying lads.

reply:
but its no the same team for the last 6 years with new players every year , do you understand english. we do have 2 or 3 new players this year cos we did struggle for a full team some weeks

thats fine so when sean goes on about the brig having the same team for years (that dosent change players) it isni really, thats what i wanted to hear about
cheeny, saunders, meldrum did he no play for kirkland, thomson, bundy, and any other that may be new players, so 2 ,3 years each
and the talk about we dinni play apart from thursday that aint true either
so 5 in a row and you maybe played 1 in a row if you were their ,brian dont turn up as well according to deek
so ive told you about the players i'm aware of can you no remember the rest and anyway this is for 100 ball forum

we ain't all that bothered who plays for brig, my coments come from the talk we should play without out side players

and just remember your stats aint as good as mine we man

to be honest it doesnt matter who PLAYED for who, who PLAYS for who you should be alout do to bring in as many out of towners as you want, a think thats what your gettin at stoo eh? levenmouth league is one of the poorer leagues about but hopefully maybe with rules changing next year and maybe some other adjustments made the league will pick up again and there should be out of towners aloud, the more quality players that want to come and play in leven the better. No offence to other players but there is only really 2 top players in this league in my opinion and that is baba and deek, theres boys knockin on the door like craig saunders, ian murray, mike mchale but apart from that its very average.

look at this year, theres 4 or 5 teams challenging for the title this year which is great, imaging some more players comin through from kirckaldy, glenrothes, dunfermline or along the coast we could probably end up with a 6 or 7 horse race for the league. some people say its all about winning but not for me, these 11-0 and 10-1 scores just isnt fun, yeah you get your win and 3 points but i know ad rather be playin against teams who were making a night off, you will always have a few teams like that but out of towner rule should be dropped, let them in, hopefully they go to teams that are struggling and make the league a bit better.

A dont understand how the history of the 100 ball would have anything to do with winning it this year most teams change at least a couple of players each year. Would also like to say there is a few more than just 2 good players in league. It doesnt matter what good players you have the might not get much shots so thats why its good cause the whole team has to do there part. Should be a interesting semis and a good final all the best to the teams still in

Yes you're bang on the button there Chris. I would also like to point out that there are NOT very many players who can play at the standard you've shown in the past. I personally enjoy watching the top players in full flow because it can give us all something to aim for. Talk is one thing but ACTION is another.

a didnt say there were only 2 good players, a said there was to really good players that stand out more than anyone else, and including yourself chris, i always forget that you play in leven to. i know there are good players in leven, just wish there was more, the likes of you and babe pretty much never get beat and that is mostly cause yous are very good but come one baba went like 40 odd games without bein beat, its one frame pool surely some people should be takin a few frames.

Baba and other's like him do not get beat in this league cause of the stupid rule of away team gets to pick who they play against.

Take Baba as an example:-

Blazers away - they will not risk him getting beat so they will match him against a decent player but not a fantastic player.

Blazers home - away team play their worst player against him, cause they know he is gonna beat most of them anyway.

This rule does nothing for the good players in this league either

Best to revert to blind draw format Question
