Glad to see you replied Mark.

"IF YOU HAD BOTHERED TO ASK SIMON"
Who do you think told us that we weren't allowed to play from another pub? It was Simon.
And who told him the rule? That would be you!
Up to that point we didn't believe it would be an issue!
The fact that we were looking at other pubs, would always have to be "SORTED AT THE NEXT MEETING."
The main gist of my post is where did this rule come from? This you have not answered and with the statement "AS I UNDERSTOOD IT" confirms this point. It is not in the constitution, It is just another barrier thrown in which does nothing to help the pool players within the league and does not promote our league as forward looking.
This is not the way I see you taking the league and is not a statement I thought would come from yourself. There are currently glimmers of hope that our league is moving forward but the egos from yesteryear still seem to have an influence to scupper this.
Please allow this decision to be made looking forward, "for the good of pool", with common sense and not influenced by times gone by!

Re: Open Discussions
Well said "Baldy"
Although I do not know all the truths about who said what or where, I will not get involved in that debate.
Anyway the boys r losing their venue, not their fault, so if they are not due any cash to the league then I would say let them play from any pub that fits the league criteria, next season does not even need to be discussed as there are no teams in the league next season until the AGM.
Looking forward at a couple of other points:-
1. Has Ross McInnes been reminded about Mondays meeting Is he making an appearance
2. Bayview out the league, Auld hoose Buck. out the league, Tssie closing. Less and less teams all the time by the looks of it, so although a faster cloth is alright to play on I would think twice about banning teams that do not have it, I have never heard of pubs being banned for not having a particular type of cloth in place
A tip for pubs looking to have their tables re-clothed instead of asking ur supplier for a speed cloth, ask for "Hainsworth cloth" to be put on, by far the best cloth I have played on to date.

tassie venue
at the meeting last night tassie asked about home games and asked to play matches at den inn they have 4 home games left blazers, auld hoose both agreed to this with two final home games v railway and douglas but as den inn will also be playing at home tassie will have to play these games away.
pointless really den inn is an away venue but they are the home team for 2 matches, but it is closser for the tassie players to attend
no option for a venue outside the league teams was allowed, more teams may come across this in the future as pub's are clossing more often at the moment

Re: Open Discussions
well thats another trophy on the blazers shelf u thought u had us but we were only toying with u never mind theres always next year as the saying goes.but on a more serious note the final was played in good spirit an humour i think a gid laff was had by all especialy when a certain commitee member left the building. from about 25-30 balls behind just shows the spirit blazers have. and there was plenty more spirit back at the blazers mostly blackie tho

Re: Open Discussions
As you may be aware Blazers beat Brig 11-0 recently, I had a word with my legal adviser and told him how the game was stopped after 6-0 and brig conceded the match before the pies were handed out and eaten, it was like 11 oclock.
my legal adviser said Blazers should claim non fulfilment of fixture thats the rules he said

Re: Open Discussions
Stoo you are a very silly boy . How many times has a team left before all the games have finished? I can think of at least 4 occasions this season that this has happened at the brig! and how many times has your team left without playing all the games . As you know we never finished the first 6 games till well over 11pm due to the time your team took to play shots .
we always leave eary, who ever we play not just the doubles
The game went in good spirits and the best team on the night won so why try to spoil your victory with silly comments?

Re: Open Discussions
to answer about leaving early , blazers make sure they play as meany frames as possible providing they have a squad (we've been short of a full team this year), all you here about is brig leave early why to get back to the brig
this is not a silly comment i was asking about the rule that your not aware of
I was speaking to my legal advisor again today , he asked if i but the game v blazers and brig as a non fulfilment of fixture because they left early , he also reminded me that its £10 fine for the pub because we had food on , i said were not interested in the money , more inportantly he said what about the penalty point for non fulfilment of fixture, this could be very inportant if auld hoose beat brig next week , this would mean brig are behind blazers by a point if blazers beat central

I take it that this is the mind games starting already

So whats the answer is it non fulfiment or not . i dont see any rules for this but it seems its a non written rule is it
this may not be of any use but if brig lose versus auld hoose then it could matter
Re: Open Discussions
this you clutching at straws stoo?? if you had to take a point off teams for not finishing there matches every team in the league would get points took off them.
can u answer this please, just say you turn up to a game with 4 players and the other team has 8, that means the other team is only gettin 4 singles games and the first 2 doubles games, now where do you stand with that?? is that not just along the same lines???

Re: Open Discussions
It's good you asked about the 4 player thing that's why you went to the brig you say
about the not playing the full fixture if you have a team it is a rule made by the comittee ask them , I want the full rule as well
if you boys win at auld hoose then it won't matter about any rule ,but it's got you worried I see
as you made the effort to log on you can stay , for now be good and play nice squire

Technically it could be classed as a nonfulfilment with not all the games being played, but it would only be a £15 fine with no points deducted as this was changed at the agm last year. But as it was nearly 11.20pm,to play the game out wolud have taken till the early hours of the morning. Only points are to be deducted for non attendance at a meeting.
If you look back at last years corresponding fixture, it finished at around 1.00am, with the score of 6-4 in the Brigs favour with 1 game left to play. Everybody shook hands and that was the end of that.
Hope that this answers your question.

smoke, pipe, what you on about squire you weren't at the last AGM were you
I take it guidi has the change of rool about non fulfilment written down in the minutes , i was at the meeting i dont remember the change
last year teams lost a point for missing a meeting and they lose point this season so what has been changed , both missing a meeting and non-fufilment of fixture should be penalised this season i think was voted for , mr chairman
see what happens when we dinni have thing writen down, even i forget things
i found this bit i wrote about last seasons agm http://stoo01.webs.com/seasonreview0809.htm i know this is not exacly what was said at the meeting but it cant be far wrong , makes you think tho
